Education

Dr. Lynn Rusy graduated from UW Madison Medical School in 1987. She finished her anesthesia residency at UW Madison Medical School in 1992. Dr. Rusy completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Harvard/Boston Children’s Hospital from 1992-1993. She became a clinical fellow in pain research in Boston until December of 1993. Dr. Rusy joined the 91㽶staff in January 1994 as Assistant Professor, promoted to Associate Professor in 2000, and full Professor in 2011.

Biography

Dr. Rusy is on staff in the Jane B. Petit Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Clinic at Children’s Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She is certified in medical acupuncture. Dr. Rusy is a fellow of acupuncture at the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture at UCLA. She is active in acute pain management at Children’s Wisconsin, managing epidurals and PCA for postoperative pain, as well as consulting on complex chronic pain issues.

Research Interests

Her research focuses on clinical pain management and alternative therapies for pain management including: massage, acupuncture and cognitive behavioral pain management. Dr. Rusy has published multiple articles in acupuncture and acute pain management, as well as alternative therapies for acute pain management.
